Further tests may include imaging using x-rays, magnetic fields or radioactive substances. Kidney cancer can usually be diagnosed without the necessity of a biopsy to remove a tissue sample for laboratory analysis however ion some cases where there may be doubt a biopsy will be used. Testing may also include computed tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, intravenous pyelograms, and ultrasound scans.
